Managing principal Fabian Behague was born and raised in Brussels, Belgium.
His passion for architecture was ignited during a high school field trip to the Mies van der Rohe pavilion in Barcelona. He began his formal study at Institut St. Luc in Brussels, where he earned his professional degree in 1998.
Immediately upon graduation, Mr. Behague's entrepreneurial spirit led him to open his own firm, handling numerous commercial projects throughout Europe. Projects included European Commission Headquarters, DHL Warehouse, Total Fina Elf gas stations, banks, Healthcare centers, Cash & Carry and hypermarkets.
Relocating to the U.S. in 2004, Mr. Behague settled in Miami, where he gained invaluable experience and acclimation to the procedures and building process used in the U.S. Working at the time with architectural and engineering firm BEA International, his work included projects in collaboration with world-known architectural firms Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF) and TEN Arquitectos.
Prior to becoming managing principal at ARTEFACT studio, Mr. Behague was a partner at a well-known Southwest Florida architecture firm where he played a prominent design and management role.
Some of his key projects include all Chico’s Corporate, Chico’s Distribution Centers, White House Black Market Headquarters, Boston Proper, Florida International University Graduate School of Business, Miami Parks and Recreation, Port of Miami Provision Building, Port of Barcelona Cruise Terminal C, PLC Lincoln Road Loft, and Maine International Ferry Terminal.
With high-profile work in Florida, Georgia, and several cities in Europe, Mr. Behague has become a respected leader in design practices.
